Galen College to offer Associate Degree in Nursing program for Kentuckiana area students

LOUISVILLE, Ky., January 22, 2013 – – – Beginning in April, Galen College of Nursing will offer an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program for students interested in becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Currently, the campus in Louisville offers a bridge program for those students who are already a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

“The ADN program is a wonderful new addition to our established LPN and LPN-to-ADN Bridge programs, designed to be completed in only two years,” said Joan L. Frey, EdD, MSN, Dean of Galen’s main campus in Louisville, Kentucky. “The new ADN program will allow Kentuckiana area students an additional option to consider in pursuit of a professional career as a registered nurse.”

Galen has been educating nurses in this community for more than 20 years and with the addition of this program, will help many more students achieve their dream of making a difference in the lives of the patients they care for at area healthcare facilities.

In addition, Galen College is among the top nursing schools in the U.S. in terms of National Council Licensure Examination pass rates, with Galen graduates’ average scores consistently exceeding the national average.
