Cathryn joins Galen as an expert problem solver with decades’ experience in strategic and operational oversight navigating complex organizations. Most recently, she led the Graduate Medical Education service line as Chief Operating Officer at HCA Healthcare, helping to build the largest physician residency training system in the U.S. Previously, she served as the Chief Business Officer for the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Office of Health Sciences Education. While at Vanderbilt, she oversaw the finances and operations of the Undergraduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, and Graduate Medical Education activities, in addition to the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment. Cathryn also served as Associate General Counsel for the Vanderbilt University, as Associate General Counsel with a large private company, and practiced law with a large law firm in Nashville.

Cathryn received her BS in Finance and JD from the University of Tennessee. She and her husband, Billy, who is employed by HCA Healthcare, have two grown children, RenaClayton and Austin. In her spare time, Cathryn enjoys playing pickleball and frequenting Center Hill Lake, just outside of Nashville. With her distinguished background and experience, Cathryn will be instrumental in helping guide Galen successfully into the future.
